Job description
The Remote Pilot Centre in Madrid will be EPN's new hub for professional simulator pilot services. Starting August 2025, this department will provide skilled remote simulator pilots for Initial Training (IT) for Air Traffic Controller students to several EPN sites across Europe. You will be an integral part of establishing this department and in building the team.
The Remote Pilot Centre will be based in Rivas Vaciamadrid and you will report into our Pilot Center of Excellence, based out of Denmark. You will have approx. 6-8 full time simulator pilots reporting to you and in addition a pool of resources supporting for peak periods.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coach the team in their daily work, including supervising and coordinating activities
- Plan, coordinate and execute internal training of simulator pilots. Identify needs for internal training based on current pilot proficiency and upcoming piloting needs.
- Allocate resources for all Remote Pilot IT simulator activities
- Plan, ensure, and follow up on the daily operation of simulator activities. Maintain contact with service receivers and address any issues or concerns
- Provide support and assistance with departmental activities as needed, including assisting with special projects, and performing tasks related to simulator operation
- With the support from HR, manage the full employee life-cycle including e.g. recruiting, onboarding, managing time reporting and conducting monthly and annual processes.
Travels to Sweden for training will be needed for approx. 1-2 weeks early summer 2025.
Your team
You will play a key role in establishing and nurturing a professional, engaged, and high-performing team from the ground up. You will get support from the EPN Group and collaborate closely with the Pilot Center of Excellence in Denmark as well as with HQ functions in Sweden. You will also have frequent contact with the Entry Point North Spain Branch Manager at our site in San Fernando.
Your background
We are seeking a structured and organized team player who thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple focal points. You are excited about working with people, eager to take on a leadership role, and committed to setting high standards for our department's performance and delivery. Requirements for the role are:
- finalised secondary school and a pilot license or equivalent aviation experience
- at least 2-3 year’s of working experience in the aviation industry
- experience from a leadership role
- very good language skills in Spanish and English to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- solid knowledge of Microsoft based applications and especially being comfortable in an MS Teams environment
It is an advantage to have experience from working as a simulator pilot and/or being familiar with Entry Point North’s systems and training. Knowledge and experience from Spanish labor law is an advantage
