Our HQ is based in Malmö, Sweden, and we have offices in Madrid, Budapest, Brussels, Shannon, Dublin and Copenhagen.
We are here to empower the people who safeguard our skies, and are currently looking for a Simulator Pilots to join us at Entry Point North in Malmö: are you our new brave, responsible, innovative and open-minded colleague?
Job description
As a Simulator Pilot, you will act as the counterpart to Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) during training and education. Your primary responsibility will be to operate the simulators with the clearances and instructions provided by the ATCO. In our ATC simulators, we simulate reality from the perspective of an ATCO, whether in a control tower or in front of a radar screen in an Area Control Center. Your task will be to make the aircraft outside the "windows" or on the radar screen behave as intended and to communicate with the ATCO via radio on behalf of the aircraft within the airspace.
We are located near Hyllie, just outside Malmö, where we train and retrain ATCOs in all categories of Air Traffic Management. This primarily involves new students being trained to become ATCOs, but it may also include retraining or recertification of previously acquired competencies.
Many pilot inputs are automated, however you will for example perform:
- Initial inputs
- Changes in aircraft routes
- Radio calls on behalf of aircraft
You will be part of our pool of Simulator Pilots based at Entry Point North in Hyllie but may at times be asked to take shifts at our subsidiary site in Kastrup.
We are currently looking for Simulator Pilots for fixed term part-time employment. This means that you will be assigned full-day shifts based on our need for pilots and your availability. The employment will be based on our varying pilot needs and there may be a possibility of extension.
Your team
You will be part of a team consisting of colleagues with different backgrounds and varying degrees of aviation experience.
We are all looking forward to welcoming you to the team!
Your background
We are looking for individuals who have:
- Prior experience in aviation. Perhaps you have previously worked as a professional pilot, maybe you are a recent graduate pilot or perhaps you fly as a hobby. The most important thing is that you have knowledge of aviation phraseology and understand the collaboration between a pilot and an ATCO.
- An intuitive understanding of computer use as the job requires speed on the keyboard and mouse.
- Available for 3-5 days of training per week during August 2024
- Excellent language skills in both written and spoken English
- Equivalent language skills in Swedish is a plus
- Experience with Air Traffic Management from VATSIM is a plus
We are looking for new colleagues who are prepared to learn with a steep learning curve. Your positive attitude and ability to both collaborate and work independently are key success factors in this role. You are good at multitasking, maintaining an overview even when under pressure, and quickly adapting to changes. As a person, you are ambitious and take responsibility for your work and learning, always with a service-minded attitude.
Our offer
We offer a professional and international working environment with people from diverse backgrounds who collaborate to provide the best and most realistic learning environment for our students. We are ambitious with our business plans, take pride in our competent people and constantly strive to make people feel engaged.
